Makarov.com Military Rifle Match

 We are proud to now sponsor a Monthly Military Rifle Match at the Putnam County Gun Club

Range. 

The match will be the third Sunday of each month, starting at 12 Noon.

The first Match will be July 18th.  All Shooters welcome, shooters under 18 must be accompanied by legal guardian.

Match is open to any Military Rifle, in original configuration ( loosely defined by NRA high power rifle equipment guidelines)

There will be 3 classes:

Bolt Action Rifle (includes any action type that must be cycled by hand for each shot)
(Example: Springfield 1903, Military Mauser, Mosin Nagant, Enfield, K31 Straight Pull, Krag, etc)

Semi-Automatic Rifle
(Example: M1 Garand, M1A, SKS, AK47, AK74, M-14, MAS, etc)

Sniper Rifle (any original issue Sniper rifle, in original configuration, new or replacement scopes allowed as long as the original type scope mount is used)
(Example: M14/M1A in M24 configuration, Dragunov,  Romak III, SVT 40, PU Mosin Nagant, Mauser in original Sniper configuration, etc)

In order put everyone on an semi-equal footing, all rifles will be limited to 5 rounds between loadings.

Pre-registering is not required, but is recommended.  Send Email to info@makarov.com to pre-Register.

Match fee is $15.00 per shooter, per class.  Proceeds cover targets, drinking water, range usage, with any extras going to the NRA Shooting for the Future Fund. 

Course of fire will be announced day of match.  No course of fire will exceed 30 rounds per class.  Course of fire may include Standing, Kneeling, Sitting and/or Prone firing.

Ammo and firearms not provided.  Some ammo available for purchase at the match.  Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each class.

Directions to range:

The Match will be held at the Rifle Range of the Putnam County Rifle and Pistol Club.

The Club range is located on the backside of the Putnam County Park.

Entrance to the park is off Route 35, in Eleanor, WV.  Turn right on Park road at the sign for the County Park.

Follow the main road in the park, and turn right at the One Room School house.  Cross the bridge, and turn right on the first gravel road.  (Signs will be posted.)

Follow the Range road past the pistol range to the Rifle range.  Extra parking is available along the road and by the rest rooms.

PLEASE BE SURE ALL WEAPONS ARE UNLOADED UNTIL YOU ARE ON THE FIRING LINE.
