NRA Shooting for the Future

What is the NRA Shooting for the Future Program?

Originally known as the NRA "Round-Up", this program allows participating businesses to ask their customers to make a voluntary donation in a counter-top receptacle to The NRA Foundation and/or The NRA-ILA National Endowment For The Protection Of The Second Amendment. Simply stated, this is a simple way to make a significant contribution to those organization every time you shop. Makarov.com received its approved participation agreement January 5, 1998.

Where do my contributions go?

Makarov.com has chosen to direct contributions received from customers to The NRA Foundation. This is not an indication of the worthiness of either organization, but simply a choice. To find out more about these beneficiaries, please see the NRA web site

Are my contributions tax-deductible?

Yes. Because our contribution goes to the NRA Foundation, a charitable organization for federal income tax purposes, you can save your receipt for tax-time.

How do you collect and forward the money?

Our contributions are collected with normal sales. The on-line order form has entry fields for the amount you wish to contribute. We write a check to the NRA Foundation when a significant amount accumulates or at least once a quarter. At that time, we add our own donation, usually in the form of a matching gift.  "Significant" means $20 or more in this case.  We also add the change from our retail store to the amount we donate.

I see other businesses still display the NRA Round-Up logo. What has changed?

NRA Round-Up participants were formerly allowed to choose between the NRA Foundation and the NRA-ILA. More recently, the Round-Up program donations have been slated for the NRA-ILA and the NRA Foundation now calls its similar program "Shooting for the Future."
